My Cooking Disasters — June 30, 2018

My Cooking Disasters

Guess who’s back. Back again. Tell a friend.

Yes, it’s me, Macie, I need to stop coming back here every July only to forget about my blog.

For goodness sake, this blog is almost 6 years old. I’m going on to become a freshman! Where have all these years gone?

Enough of that, though, time to talk about all the times I failed to make food even Gordon Ramsey would be ashamed of. And then laugh while I learn from my mistakes.

Bagged Ice Cream

Mom taught me this recipe back in the first grade and when I WAS able to make it I remember not liking it very much.

I attempted this recipe again pretty recently, because people online and even WIKIHOW made it look easy. What it actually was, however, is me shaking a cold bag while water is leaking from the bag and my hands are freezing. Repeat for 8 minutes until I gave up and threw it in the freezer overnight. When I checked the next morning it was a frozen blob of coffee sweetner, vanilla extract, and salt. I’m not sure if I didn’t shake it well enough or if I just missed something, but man I felt robbed. I wasn’t even able to eat it.

Some Chicken Ramen Thingy

This occured last summer when I thought I could make a chicken parmesean-styled lunch with my cooking skills (which back then consisted of only ramen and macaroni and cheese)

So I made the ramen just fine and heated up some chicken patties but when it came time to transfer ramen-to-plate I never drained the noodles, leading to me spilling the water everywhere and the chicken flavoring with it. I had to refill the water so I had to eat soggy chicken and noodles. It wasn’t that bad but it goes to show the consequences of too much water.

Nachos (twice)

I’ve attempted making these twice and each time it left a bad taste in my mouth…literally.

The first time was around the time I found an appreciation for refried beans, so I used what was left of that to put on shredded cheese and Totinos chips and slap em in the microwave for 45 seconds.

Take a wild guess what happened when I took a bite out of the nachos.

The second time happened a year after the first incident, where this time I added lettuce and hot sauce.

You’re not supposed to heat lettuce in the microwave and lil 11 year old me didn’t know that so I plucked the lettuce off and ate lukewarm nachos

Chicken

I actually technically reheated frozen chicken, but the pieces were too small to heat for the normal directions so I wasn’t even able to eat the chicken because it was so burnt.

Potato Soup

You know those little Kraft bowls you see in your nearest neighborhood Wal-Mart? Well I had those in my storage but with potato soup instead of dried noodles. I did the directions *right but the result was pretty terrible and I got physically sick after eating it.

*And by that, I mean I did everything EXCEPT stir the soup

I just snacked on some pretzels later that day.

Well that’s it, everyone. Maybe if I remember this blog exists I’ll make one about my cooking successes

5TH ANNIVERSARY WOOT WOOT — July 19, 2017

5TH ANNIVERSARY WOOT WOOT

I WAS going to make a “Horror Movie 101” post but that’s going to have to wait.

Today WordPress reminded me of a special month: My 5th Anniversary of me making my blog

((Well, technically my parents made it, I just thought up the idea of making a blog and poof it happened))

To celebrate I decided to draw a picture.

5 years

Thank you for reading my blog posts , no matter how higly questionable some of them were.

Also I gave up on the 50 Year Eclipse Project.

“Vacation” — June 2, 2017

“Vacation”

February 11, 2017

Oh no.

Sorry that I broke my promise, my 11 or so fans. But I got busy and didn’t have time to update my blog

I’m going on vacation (which is actually a wedding in Oklahoma) for 3 days, including today. So I won’t have time to update. BUUUUUUUUUUUUUT I found a new way of recording my ideas.

I introduce to you…..THE 50-YEAR ECLIPSE PROJECT

Everyday I write or draw in my old reading journal (I took out all the pages with reading notes, my teacher gave them back to us because it was the end of the school year and we weren’t using them again) everyday until I run out of pages. On the day of the eclipse, I bury the journal in a time capsule for 50 years.

I’m still working on finding a place to bury it.

In the meantime, I’ll update my blog to celebrate the summer.

Update/Shoutouts — February 11, 2017

Update/Shoutouts

I sure have posted a lot this month. Looks like I’m going back to my old roots or however you say it. Only 5 months and 21 days until my blog celebrates its 5th birthday.

I apologize if I’ve been drifting away from the content I usually post. I haven’t had anything noteworthy to talk about (unless you want me to talk about cracking an egg or the time I introduced my reading teacher to my blog.) You see…

…I’m sick, well kind of.

I haven’t really left the house unless it was for school or being forced to go grocery shopping. So, no fancy “My visit to the aquarium” kind of thing until I actually do something blog-worthy. So expect another art showcase and a very special post-err-film review.

-Macie, (2/11/17)

Art Showcase 1 — February 4, 2017

Art Showcase 1

I decided to show off my art. Not only is my blog now a “slice-of-life” blog, but it’s also an art blog. Yay, my scanner hates me now! Feel free to pause if you want to read the captions

Sayonara, Club Penguin! —

Sayonara, Club Penguin!

It has come to my attention that Club Penguin, a popular site that is currently owned by Disney, will be shutting on March 29th, 2017, after 12 years of running.

I remember playing the game back when I was 5 or 6 (which was about 6 or 7 years ago). This was around the time when Disney bought CP and made you have to pay just so you could buy some fancier clothes. I even got a membership gift card along with my two older siblings. Oh boy, when my membership ran out, I played on my sister’s account until her membership ran out! I actually remember playing some EPF missions with my brother, too. And guess what? I got a comic book and and DS game revolving around Club Penguin! Unfortunately, I sold my DS at a garage sale and my mom got rid of the comic book. Fun…

As I grew older, I realized that you had to pay for 3/4 of the actual game. It ticked me off, but I still played. I entered in a lot of codes, that’s for sure. NOW WILL YOU ACCEPT ME AS ONE OF YOU, RAINBOWGURL29338?

Club Penguin was everywhere on the internet! One YouTuber, Chadtronic, reacted to a news report about CP, and actually STREAMED Club Penguin on Twitch. Other YouTubers usually create fake bans, or actually (purposely or accidentally) got themselves BANNED. And we can’t forget the darker sides of WikiHow with those Club Penguin articles…oh my.

I heard that Disney’s making a mobile spinoff game, Club Penguin Island. That means that it probably won’t be out for Kindle Fire, meaning that I won’t get to play just like I didn’t get to play Pokemon Go. Oh well, at least the art looks nice.

Even if Club Penguin is gone now and I probably won’t get to play (possibly) CPI, we can’t deny that CP was a fun experience for young childern, YouTubers, and Undercover Moms alike. May you rest in peace, Club Penguin. Austin, get my recorder!

Well, it’s been a while — January 16, 2017

Well, it’s been a while

Well, my first (and probably my only) post of 2017 is here. Wow, I haven’t posted anything since April…of last year. Also, my website is now 4 years old…is what I would be saying if it was July 31st, 2016. So ladies and gentleman, my resolution is to post more often! Whether you’re one of the 4 Russians who tune in to my blog or American,  I proudly present The Comeback of ChiliMacMacie. I was also thinking The ChiliMacMacie Renaissance, but I wasn’t sure if that fit or not.

I promise, I’ll post once a month! Thanks for tuning in even though I rarely post anymore!
